BCUBE
The aim of this project was to redesign an existing small household appliance, in this specific case a blender. The central idea consists in making ice-creams, drinks and smoothies directly into Bormioli jars “Quattro Stagioni”. In this way the user could mix the food he wants directly in the container in which he will eat.
Highly Minimalistic Design
The blender gets its name from its compact and cubic shape. Bcube is the smallest blender ever, so you can keep it in sight after the use, thanks to its minimalist style.
The User
The product is designed to be used at home in a domestic context and the targeted user is someone who prepares the meals of the whole week only once. In this way he could freeze them to have them always ready. They are toppings but homemade.
Based on Arduino system.
B-cube is totally and easily serviceable because it works with Arduino and universal components, so its reliability is guaranteed for ages.
The engine is located inside the base and it is also designed to accommodate the plug to be connected to the socket. Very often standard blenders do not have a cable reel able to adequately hide the entire length of the wire; Bcube meets this need, especially since a visible thread is unaesthetic.
Easy to use.
Bcube is simple to use: place the jar of the desired capacity on the detachable cover, then insert the cover on the top of the blender. The engine spins only if the jar is correctly screwed and pressure is applied on the blender.
Few steps to wash it.
The cover is dishwasher compatible. After the use, the lid of the blender could be washed in the dishwasher without problems. The base with Arduino system with the internal mechanism cannot be cleaning in this way but gently with a cloth.
Satisfying Final Customers’ needs.
Generally blenders do store in a closet in the kitchen. The idea of this project is to emphazise the visual qualities of the product, without creating space problems linked to excessive size of the object.
